Who said learning couldn't be fun? Here in Manor ISD, we say otherwise!
This year we are putting a laser like focus on instruction, and we will host our inaugural Instructional Focus Extravaganza on September 18th from 4:30-6:30 pm at Manor New Tech Middle School. The purpose of these conferences is to guide our teachers in planning and preparing for upcoming units of instruction. Each conference will have sessions on unit mapping, mini-lessons & authentic resources, writing, and social emotional learning. Teachers will self-select sessions to attend based on individual professional needs and goals. As we pilot this new venture, we will begin our work with 6th-8th grade ELA teachers.
One challenge our teachers face with staying after school for professional development is having childcare available. Well, we have taken that into account- both child care AND dinner will be provided. Children will be engaged with age appropriate activities and will include homework help as needed.
